Capital Stoneworks was commissioned with supply the building stone and cut stone packages for Headlands Observatory. When selecting material, the design team placed an emphasis on using local, regionally sourced materials. The solutions for the building stone were using Bay Harbor Stone Company’s custom blend, now called “Headlands Estate Blend”. This was a custom combination created and crafted to fit the designers desired look.

This private Michigan residence is truly a masterpiece. Our Indiana Gray limestone was used all throughout the exterior of this home, from paneling to columns. We worked alongside DesRosiers Architects and Custom Homes by Derocher to create this work of art.

When Capital Stoneworks was approach by the owner, builder, and design team, they were tasked with fulfilling the owners desired to create a “Tuscan” feel for their Northern Michigan winery. The result? A breath-taking work of art, world class venue to feature a world class wine. Products used on the project to create this look? Over 20,000 sf of Mackinaw Castle Rock, with a custom trim cut stone package of Indiana Gray Limestone.

Capital Stoneworks stepped up and delivered a magnificent stone project, on time, on a very strict schedule. The project consists of Chippewa Gold Granite at the base planters, and Stanton Limestone on the building façade. Meeting the clients’ requirements was a satisfying challenge, and is in now admired and viewed by hundreds of thousands of football fans every fall.

Capital Stoneworks was selected as the supplier and fabricator for the stone in the extensive restoration of Michigan’s Central Station dating back to 1913. Throughout its storied history, it welcomed notable travelers such as Theodore Roosevelt, Charlie Chaplin, Franklin Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, and Thomas Edison. In 1975, the station was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
